Overview of the conference

The ASEAN IPA Conference was held to discuss and exchange views on the latest developments and trends in intellectual property in the region and in the world under the impact of Industry 4.0. The conference specifically focused on the opportunities and challenges that ASEAN IP owners may face in the building, protection and development of their IP assets in the era of Industry 4.0, with learning from the experience of other countries, thereby helping them prepare correct and effective investment policies.

The conference was a forum for seasoned experts from ASEAN and non-ASEAN jurisdictions to discuss on Industry 4.0 and its impact on ASEAN IP owners and practitioners, the protection of data, and the challenges in enforcing IPR in the digital world. The speakers also discussed techniques and criteria on IP valuation, which is an important aspect of the commercialization of IP, and introduced WIPO ASEAN IP Valuation Project to all participants.

The ASEAN IPA Conference is a great environment for participants to connect and exchange with each other, create an effective business and cooperation networking, and also a place to expand the Association's activities, improve the efficiency, and strengthen the position of the Association in the region and in the world. It is hoped that the ASEAN IPA Conference shall be a must-come destination for both IP and non-IP professionals and enterprises.
