The ASEAN IPA recently sent a delegation for consultation with the ASEAN Working Group Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC) during the 26th Meeting of the AWGIPC held in Manila from 12th to 15th July 2006. The ASEAN IPA delegates comprised the President, Mr. Chew Phye Keat and the Filipino council members , namely Ms. Lorna Patajo Kapunan, Ms. Aleli G. Quirino,  Mr. Bong Somera & Mr. Pablo M. Gancayco.  The delegation had a fruitful discussion with AWGIPC on recent efforts to harmonise IP laws and procedures within the ASEAN region.
